As a brand goes in the Mini PC market Minix is already well known, a guarantee, but because very often, budget priced headphones with NFC and Bluetooth connectivity don’t usually offer adequate sound quality.
But, as often happens, our doubts were completely un called for once the Bluetooth pairing with my Mac PC was setup.
Packaging and attractive design
Set aside the cardboard box, the Minix NT-II are contained in a small rubber shell. Within it, protected by a zipper, I placed the NT-II with two pavilions folded inward and, on the bottom, a small canvas case containing the wiring and the manual.
The Minix NT-II are enclosed in small bangash with rubber earbuds facing inwards, which is possible thanks to two solid hinges located at half of the bow that allow through pressure, to reduce the clutter of headphones.
Power on & Pairing the bluetooth headphones
Reading through the quick start guide to carry the pairing via Bluetooth, you have to hold the power button (on the left ear) for six seconds. The pairing function alerts you both vocally, and through the two small LEDs that span the entry micro USB.
At this stage the computer searches for Bluetooth devices nearby and, once identified, you can proceed to complete the pairing phase. The two LEDs that indicate the pairing of NT-II using only blue LED (the one on the left of the entry micro USB), notify the pairing mode (the second is red). After connection as been made, the music can be played up to a theoretical distance of 10 metres which allows complete free movement around the room.
In conclusion the Bluetooth headphone design is nice and includes well chosen materials, although in line with the price, are not cheap. The plastic is tough, durable and free from strange creaking; the headband is robust and makes it possible to increase the length by pulling down the earphones. The hinges are well made.
